Buying Emergency Survival kits at the hardware store?
In recent months many hardware stores and bulk discount retailers have started to sell
emergency survival kits in an attempt to profit from getting America ready for
emergencies. Those are local hardware store chains and membership clubs that would
usually sell sheets of plywood and lumber, food and cleaning supplies in bulk.
So we decided to take a closer look at what they are selling and how the product
compares to ours.
The result was disappointing.
The kits we saw at those stores were not only severely overpriced, but the majority of
the kits they sold were already more then 1 year old which means you pay full price for
a kit that only comes with 4 years of shelf life left instead of 5 years remaining. While
you pay 100% of the price, you only get 80% of the promised use!
We furthermore found that while a typical 4-person kit retailed for $99.99, the actual
value of the contents was right around $30.00 to $35.00 at the most! In case of the
2-person kits which retailed for $49.99, the product value we determined was just under
$20.00
So in summary, buying your kit at the local hardware store not only gives you an
old kit that has only about 80% shelf life left, they are also severely overpriced.
To better explain, here is a comparison between their 4 person kit and our
4 person Deluxe kit which are priced at the same level:

The bottom line is to do your research and evaluate what you get for your money.
We suggest you get your lumber or construction supplies, mayonaise and shrimp in the
family-size pack from those type of stores, but get your emergency supplies and disaster
preparedness kits from us, the SafetyKitStore, a company that understands the product and
promises to deliver value for your money. We have researched the products we sell to make
sure our kits contain items for real life. We make sure you get your money's worth and we don't
stock them between the tuna and the drywall screws either.
Please take a look at our entire line of kits to find the best kits for all your needs at home,
office and travel. Please don't forget about family members of friends. These kits make great
gifts as well.
